Through this album, Sabaton have immortalised historical legends whose actions continue to shape the world today, such as Joan of Arc, Napoleon, Julius Caesar and the Japanese sword master, Miyamoto Musashi. Till och med Glen Buxton, bandets ursprunglige gitarrist som gick bort 1997, får vara med postumt. I "What Happened To You" har ett av hans tidigare outgivna gitarrpartier passats in och sömlöst blandas det förflutna med nutiden.

"There's a line in 'Ordinary Man' where I sing, 'I don't want to die an ordinary man,' which I don't think I will," säger Ozzy och skrattar. "Ordinary Man" är första albumsläppet på nära tio år.<br/><br/>Ozzy om inspelningen av albumet:<br/>"It was a lot of fun to do though it's a lot different from my other albums,". "We recorded it quickly, which I haven't done since the first Black Sabbath album. This made it a different process, which I actually enjoyed."<br/><br/>Albumet är inspelat i Los Angeles med albumets producent Andrew Watts på gitarr, Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses) på bas och Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) på trummor. Förutom nämnda musiker gästas albumet också av Ozzys vänner Elton John, Post Malone och Tom Morello.<br/><br/>"It all just came together," berättar Ozzy om gästerna på albumet. "Slash is a dear friend of mine, as is Elton. When I was writing 'Ordinary Man,' it reminded me of an old Elton song and I said to Sharon, 'I wonder if he would sing on it?' We asked and lo and behold, he agreed and sings and play piano on the song."
